Our new Triathletes!

Some of you may not know this, but we have a Triathlon Group we have been training, and 6 of them just attempted and then accomplished their very first Tri! Way to go you guys! You all did SO amazing! I am so proud of you guys! Here are your results with the exception of Cristina's. For some reason, they are not posted or Cristina, you are listed as an alias! :) We will try to see what happened, I know you did it!

5th in her age group, Connie!
7th in her age group, Tracy!
10th in his age group, Brandon!
11th in his age group, Randy!
14th in her age group, Elizabeth!

We soooo wanted to be there, but as you guys know, Pete and I were getting USA Track and Field certified all weekend! We only had time for a 45 minute lunch each 12 hour day. We missed being with everyone all weekend, but the classes were well worth it, and we learned a whole lot some of which is still marinating. Because of the classes, we will be changing and restructuring a few things, so bare with us as we do so. I think you will all like what we have in store for you.

We have a new Ambassador of OC Trail Tales.... KIM DEGEN! Way to go KIM! I know Kim will represent us well, and we are so proud of Kim and what she has been able to accomplish in her life. We love you Kim.

This week we are back to basics, and are going to be watching your posture and form! Wednesday track should be tons of fun as usual! Saturday should be very nice, please remember to bring your water and nutrition. We will have runners, and bikers on the course so please look out for each other. Sunday we are back to our trail in El Moro, and I am so excited! Please bring water, and I will have nutrition there for you before and after.

Please check and rsvp to the Meetup page. If you have not signed up you can go here... http://www.meetup.com/OC-Trail-Tales/ and do so.

We also have a new point system in play. Please ask us about that, we will be very happy to fill you in, and by the way guys, im keeping track right now! Learn how to get points, and or get points deducted!

Great job you guys! We are so proud of everyone!

We have all had a busy week! Whether you have been recovering from a half marathon, or racing the Chili race, or doing our own little mini triathlon this week, you guys have really rocked it! Who said they could never run a half marathon? Who said they could never beat their time? Who said they could never be a triathlete? Guess what you guys, you have all proved yourselves wrong, and what great accomplishments you have conquered along the way! You have all been busy pushing yourselves and we are really proud of you! Great job!

Mini Triathlon practice at Lake Mission Viejo. Water temp a chilly 57 degrees.... brrr

I would like to give a few shout outs to some of our sponsors... Road Runner Sports has been FANTASTIC every week. The employees and staff, are just awesome, and I can not say enough good things about them, thank you guys. Tri Swim, for providing our triathletes with Tri Slide, Tri Swim, Foggle, and discounts for our students. Absolutely the best stuff! Brooks for providing our Run Happy beanies, they are sooo awesome! Powerade for providing our drinks that I hope you all enjoy having after our long trail runs! Aquaphor for providing all your samples for those chapped areas in need. Edge cycle sports for every need our Triathletes need, they are awesome! All of the race directors that we have been working with that provide us with discounts, and free entries to raffle off, we really appreciate it! Zoot, for providing discounts for our triathlete race tanks. Just this past week, ReGen for sponsoring me this year and providing us with our recovery and nutritional needs! Another special shout out to Tom and Amy with Signature Celebrations for all of their wonderful balloon creations that they are so kind in creating for us! Thank you everyone!

Run OC Trail Tales Run!

WOW! What a fantastic couple of weeks we have had. I am SO proud of you guys, and some of you have just been going full speed ahead!
It has been an off few months for me as you guys know with the pneumonia, and I am happy to say, I think I have turned the corner and I am slowly coming back. Pete has been sick too. I hope we are at top notch speed by the end of this week so we can keep up with you guys!

Congratulations to all of the Tinkerbell finishers! Great job and it looks like you guys had a fantastic time! I don't know if you all got photos with the characters like Barb did, but check this lucky girl out...

Congratulations to all of you Surf City Finishers as well! I know we have some pr's to brag about too! Mike, way to go! WHOA!!! And our very own Brandon who did his first 1/2 Marathon. Look at my pretty gals...

I want to thank all of the new people that have been coming to check us out and see what we are about, I hope you enjoyed your run with us, and come out for more fun with us whether you run, swim, bike, or have an adventure on the trail with us. We thank you for letting us spend some time with you and getting to know you a bit.
This week is a bit different in that Saturday we will be at the Chili Race. We will have a run from that location that morning at 7am. If you are doing the race, then you need not run with us at 7am, we will see you out on the course. Please check meetup for directions as such. If you need to sign up for the race, no problem, print the application, and we have a discount code, so you can write your check and give it to us, and we can turn it in for you.
Sunday we are having a mini tri day at Lake Mission Viejo for all our Triathlon Athletes! This is to prepare them for their upcoming races! WHOA! We are limited to the amount of people we can get in, so please RSVP so we can keep track.
I am so proud of everyone, you have ALL done so well in all that you are doing, and I hope you are enjoying yourselves, as much as we are enjoying you. It is great to see all of your individual accomplishments, and it makes me very happy.

Have a great week, we will see you soon!
