What is next for you?!

Whats next for you?!

Can you believe that in April you guys signed up with us and now it is almost over?! :( I can not believe how time just passes by! Everyone has done a fabulous job with their training, and I think you all should be very proud of yourselves! You are trail runners! You have hopefully learned a lot and are loving the trails as much as we do, and want to continue running with us.

Peter's Canyon series is ending unfortunately, and fall will soon be coming, and we will be loosing our evening light believe it or not, so we are going to have to have our fun runs on Saturday mornings at El Moro at 8:00 am in August! Our running leaders, Donna and Sue will be there to lead you out, and Pete and I will come meet you after Snails for more miles. :) Ask us which race would be best for you, and sign up for our fall class.

This week, Peter's group will be having a timed run, their last timed run before the last race! :) We will have another BBQ after, so let us know what it is you would like to bring, and post it on the blog for us so everyone knows. We will be doing a demonstration of what we carry in our hydration pack for those of you who are considering longer miles, and or already doing so with us. (mini hydration clinic)

Sunday we had a great turnout of Trail Tales members at the Trailheadz new member run, and I hope you all got to mingle some, and get to talk to some other trail peeps. :) They are a fun group, and a great club to join once you are comfortable going longer distances. I highly recommend them, and trying their new member runs for sure! It was also our Donna's Birthday! Happy Birthday Donna! You are the best! We love you!

This Sunday we will meet at Cooks Corner at 6:15am for a caravan to Harding trailhead. This is an 18 mile run, so Please bring water for the distance! I will have a pack and 2 handhelds. It is an out and back so 8 miles up and 8 miles down, so if anyone else wants to come and go shorter, it is a fantastic opportunity! It is not technical, and or too challenging.

OC Trail Tales Heat Edition

Perhaps you guys thought you were training for Badwater...
Which started Monday- Recognized globally as "the world's toughest foot race," this legendary event pits approximately 90 of the world's toughest athletes—runners, triathletes, adventure racers, and mountaineers—against one another and the elements. Covering 135 miles (217km) non-stop from Death Valley to Mt. Whitney, CA in temperatures up to 130F.

This week was a HOT week! The race in Peter's Canyon was probably the hottest one yet! Was the air moving on the hills? I know you guys may not have beat your times from last week, and that is because of the HOT weather! Despite that, you all did AWESOME! You should be very proud of yourselves! It was great seeing everyone, especially some of you that have not been able to come out because of injuries. We miss you, and it was fun to see you and hang a bit! Congratulations to Cora for doing her first kids race! YAY! She ran so fast through the course, she got a bit banged up! We hope you are feeling better!

Thank you Jill for coming out and stretching everyone, you always take good care of the runners. :)

Sundays group going up Santiago Truck Trail was extremely warm by the finish as well! We had a great turn out, and some newbies to the group, and everyone did awesome! Santiago Truck Trail is a bit deceiving, and not the easiest of runs. I think you all tackled it well! Janine's first 16 mile run ever! Connie and Ann's first venture there, as well as having Andrea and Jeff visit with us for the first time. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves!

This week we have crossfit, Tuesday at 5:30pm check the calendar. Remember, your first time is free, and then it is $99 for the first month for your trial. come out and give it a try with us! It won't be as hot. :o

Amazing Holiday Week and Weekend!

Where do I begin this week?! It seems as summer decided to show up and boy is it here! Is everyone hot enough?

Last weeks Peter's group did awesome! We had a great easy run of the course and we took the short cut back. Everyone did great! This week is the #2 race, so remember to come a bit early for a good parking spot, and again Pete and I will have our booth up, some come look for us! Show your support of your peeps, and where your OC Trail Tales shirts! :) You guys are going to ROCK the course again! I cant wait!

Sunday was awesome! I was so happy to see our alumni students, and run with them for our first training run of the season! Mt. Disappointment, Noble Canyon, Leona Valley Trail series, Griffith park, and Chimera await us YAY! We even had a couple newbies try the course. Ann and Connie, you guys did AWESOME! Great job! That is not an easy first time run, and especially 10 miles of it. :) This Sunday we will meet at Cooks Corner at 6:15am will run 16 miles up Santiago Truck Trail to Old Camp and back. Please bring your hydration pack and 2 handhelds. See you bright and early Sunday.

Monday Pete and I went out to volunteer at the YMCA run in the parks event, and saw a lot of friends! Everyone did great there too. It was especially hot since the run didn't start until 8:30! Great job you guys! Michelle Barton totally ROCKED it and got first woman! We knew she would :)

Tuesday we went to crossfit in RSM. It was my first time, and I know a bunch of the students. Guess what guys? You did AWESOME! Another HOT event in a gym doing burpees, and weights, running jumping! I love the fact that we can get together on an off night, and you guys come out and we can all work out together! Shows me a lot of love. :) That was hard, as MA says, "im not gonna lie", that wasn't easy. Pete and I will be there every Tuesday night for sure, and you guys are all welcome to come out and try it if you have not yet. They are giving everyone the first time free, and then a discounted rate for the rest if you want to sign up. (i am a bit sore in the arms today.) :(

Have a great week everyone! See you tomorrow!
