Marathon, Half-Marathon, 10K, 5K

Contact Corrinne 949-292-0532

The Australian Outback Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km and 5km courses will be predominantly off-road, made up of bush trails, access roads and tracks as well as unsealed roads. Only a small amount of the course will be run on sealed roads. The running surface will consist mainly of the famous “red earth” that can be found all over central Australia, and stunning views of Uluru (Ayres Rock) and Kata Tjuta (The Olgas) are waiting for you around almost every corner.
Three itinerary options available with different accommodation choices to fit every budget.
Itinerary 1   7 Days / 6 Nights
Tuesday 27th July to Monday 2nd August 2010

Package Prices from AU $2,997 per person

Day 1 – Arrive in Uluru & Aussie BBQ
After being transferred from Uluru Airport to the Voyages Resort, you will check in to your hotel and have the chance to unwind. There are numerous pools, shops and café’s to explore as well as the views from the several Lookouts to enjoy.

This evening we will treat you to a traditional Australian BBQ at Sails Resort poolside in the evening.

Meals included: Dinner.
Day 2 – The Spirit of Uluru & Welcome Aussie Buffet
Today you will visit the legendary Uluru (Ayers Rock) on a fully hosted tour. With plenty of opportunity to see this amazing Icon of the Australian Outback up close, your camera will be your best friend. Breakfast will be provided and a special souvenir backpack is also included.

The first of your optional training runs is on offer during the afternoon. This evening we will welcome you with a typical “Aussie” buffet, and included on the menu will be some typical Australian dishes such as Crocodile, Emu, Kangaroo and Barramundi.

Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner.
Day 3 – Valley of the Winds & the Sounds of Silence
After breakfast you will board your private coach and take a tour out into Uluru Kata Tjuta National Park to see the incredible domes of Kata Tjuta (The Olga’s). There you get to walk amongst these ancient formations as part of the Valley of the Winds walk. Lasting up to four hours, the mildly strenuous walk will literally take your breath away. A definite highlight!

Tonight you will be hosted at one of Australian Tourism’s most celebrated events, the Sounds of Silence dinner. At our exclusive outdoor dining setting, you will be treated to canapés and champagne before eating out under the stars. With no pollution, the night sky will appear as you have never seen it before, and with our own “sky talker” to point out the various night-time celestial objects and our very own didgeridoo player, this is a night you will never forget.

Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner.
Day 4 – Training Run & Pasta Party
There is an optional hosted run this morning for those that feel like stretching their legs. If you haven’t already been out, this is your first chance to indulge in the red earth that makes up much of the Australian Outback.

The afternoon is free for you to explore the resort, take a tour or just relax by the pool, and in the evening we will all get together for the traditional Pasta Party.

Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner.
Day 5 – The Australian Outback Marathon
Today is the day we have all been waiting for. The Australian Outback Marathon will begin just after sunrise and you will get to see the Outback from a truly unique perspective – on foot. Plenty of drink stations will provide sustenance along the way and we will welcome you back home to the finish line with our very own Outback Marquee.

The afternoon and evening are yours to relax and enjoy your achievements and also this is a perfect time to maybe book into the exclusive spa and massage parlour located within the Sails Resort.

Meals included: Breakfast.
Day 6 – Celebration Dinner
Today you get to rest and unwind after the exertions of yesterday. There are optional “Pool” aerobics this morning to help release the tension in your legs and the rest of the morning and afternoon are yours to enjoy. Maybe a camel ride or a Helicopter ride to Kata Tjuta is on your agenda, or perhaps 4 wheel driving or a ride around Uluru on the back of a Harley Davidson is more to your taste.

In the evening we will all gather together under the stars once more to commemorate your achievements at a typical Australian Celebration Dinner.

Meals included: Breakfast, Dinner.
Day 7 – Tour Ends
