Weekend Recap
Good morning OC Chili and Leona groups! This past weekend we had another fall :( the good news is, that there were no broken bones :) The OC Chili Group is doing awesome- we all are very impressed with everyone's enthusiasm and active participation.
This Saturday lets meet behind the gates of Coto near the General Store- please respond to this email this way I can add you to the list. Here is the link to the general store its really super easy. http://goo.gl/maps/Xi58
For Sunday's Leona Group run- its our first field trip of 2011. We will be heading out to Chantry, one of our favorite runs! We will meet at 5:55am at Starbucks (57fwy exit Imperial) when you exit the fwy go directly across the street in the parking lot. Everyone will do 1 loop of 10 miles. :) It should be a great weekend for this, and remember it will take a good portion of the day to drive there, run, and drive back. :)
Here is a map of Chantry and our Run Route. Estaban, Yoli, Kristen, and others I encourage you guys to come out and play...
Everyone should have received their goodie bags- Corrinne and I put a lot of time and effort putting those items together... they are there for a reason... please take the time to review the material such as the salt stick sheet...this is for you Tom Bychowski! You can take one per hour during your activity. You can go to www.saltstick.com (use "SS_PTC15") for a 15% discount.
Moving on to the Little Red Book this is for Elizabeth, and a few others I won't mention any names hmmm maybe Alayne! Its okay to eat and drink on the runs folks :) running 20 miles and only drinking 20oz of water and having a few Clif shots along the way is NOT a good training strategy. If you lost your little book here is a link.
Please feel free to review the 10 Biggest Mistakes Athletes Make... see how you score :) Then please review 15 Simple ways to Improve your performance now. You will be tested on this and put on Probation if you fail- just ask Korrin. :) Have a great rest of the week.
Happy Trails,
Pete

The problems of falling
Hi Trail Tales!
This past weekend, we had something we have forgotten all about...The SUN! I was so taken with how green everything was from all the rain we have been getting, and chit chatting away, that I was trying to avoid a landslide/gap/rock, and went falling down on my hand-helds! I thought right away that something was wrong, and well...I broke my thumb. :( I am in a fill up to elbow cast, and will be out for 4-6 weeks, hopefully not longer. So...coming from someone who falls A LOT, please be careful out there. Pay attention to your footing. While chit chatting and looking at the beautiful landscape, still pay attention to your footing, and wait and stop to observe such beautiful landscape! :)
Sue, Pete and I had a great Snails Party to attend that evening, and so here are some very handsome photos of us. Don't we look so great?
Chili group, O'neill is still unfortunately closed, they are hoping 1 more week will do it, so we will meet at Brueggers again, and take on the same dang hill that took me out! We have a full 60 minutes to train, and Leona Group if you want to meet us on Saturday you have 8 miles. :) By the way Chili, you are doing great! How are you feeling? Do you notice the difference between street and Trail?
Leona Groups, we have 15-16 on Sunday for the 50 mile group and 12-14 for the 50k group. Unfortunately, El Moro is going to be closed for awhile, so we will be back at Coto this weekend. Next weekend is a rest week, and i am hoping we can go up to Chantry?? I am sorry I couldn't make it out on your run this past weekend, my thumb was throbbing. :( Great job on your first "long run"!

OC Trail Tales
Everyone did a great job last weekend for our kick off runs! It was great to see everyone and catch up! I was totally deprived of all my friends. :( It was nice to run and laugh again.
For the Chili group, unfortunately we didn't get to run on any trail, and looks as if this weekend Oneil is closed again, so we will meet on Saturday at 9am at Bruggers bagels on Antonio across from Coto De Caza entrance (22361 Antonio Parkway, E110 Rancho Santa Margarita, CA 92688)
We have a great morning planned for you and I cant wait! Please be prepared to run for an hour and bring water. If you have trail shoes wear them, but if not, its okay, you have plenty of time. We will also have your coupons for Snails pace for Brooks shoes as well.
Too everyone that made it out on Sunday for Pete's Birthday run, thank you so much, he had a fantastic day because you all got him off to a great start! It was SO awesome to see everyone and re connect!
Leona group has 5, 10, and 14 miles this Sunday depending on if you are doing 30k, 50k, or 50 mile. I hope you can come out and join us in Coto De Caza for a nice easy pace fun run to get back into the swing of things! We will meet on Sunday at 7am at the waterfall in Dove canyon...Map Link
Btw, Pete and I are getting new shirts, and cant wait to share them with you! I hope you like what we pick out for the fabric! Pete has been working hard on it. :)
See you this weekend!
