Congratulations to everyone who has been staying active and working towards their personal goals, we are so proud of all of you. I wanted to take the time to say something about everyone that has been working so hard to accomplish their first 50k and or 50 miler.
Just as your first 5k is daunting, and requires you to start a new commitment, you can imagine how adding more miles to that is even more time consuming, and would require more commitment from each individual. Not only did they wake up early every Saturday and Sunday to put it long hours and miles on the trails. They had to watch what they ate and drank, had to learn to carry backpacks, and what to carry in those packs, play with different hydration, food, and gels. They had to deal with blisters, lost toe nails, fractures, falls, injuries, run during the week, and most of all, they had to see me and Pete almost every day! :)
For all their hard work, it paid off, and they reaped in rewards with their fantastic finishes! A long overdue Congratulations to all of you! You did a hell of a job during training and during your fantastic races. I loved seeing each and everyone of you during the race, and I am so glad i got to see you all finish! We are so very proud of you and know the time and commitment you put in yourselves, and are so very thankful that you entrusted Pete and I to all those long hours on the trails to help you find your way to complete your journey.
You are all so very special to us, and hope we can continue our journey's together.
Congrats!
